The cross between Trollinger (red) and Riesling (white) was bred by August Herold at the Weinsberg State Teaching and Research Institute in 1929. Later the variety was named after the Weinsberg poet, doctor and wine lover Justinus Kerner (1786-1862). A powerful, round and very aromatic wine, rounded off by a pleasant residual sweetness. The bouquet is captivating with its incisive nutmeg, apple and light lychee aromas. A very broad and aromatic white wine.
