Our organic winery Rebhalde is located in Stäfa on Lake Zurich. It is nestled on a terrace above the Lattenberg at the southeastern end of the Pfannenstiel. We, the Hohl family, are the fourth generation to run the 9-acre farm. Since the beginning of 2023, our winery is certified organic.

High above Lake Zurich with a far-reaching view of the Alps, we enjoy the best conditions to produce unique, delicate and profound wines and natural wines. As an organic winery, it is our conviction and task at the same time to be inspired by nature and to listen to it. With the help of biodynamics we have found natural solutions to support the soils and the vines on the slopes of Stäfa with special preparations as well as plant teas. This is our path that leads us back to the original, to the pure terroir.

With the unique climate on Lake Zurich and a diverse range of varieties to the highest quality.

A wide variety of grape varieties grow on our 9-acre organic vineyard. The varieties range from Räuschling to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to specialties such as Blauer Zweigelt, Pinotage and Syrah. The vineyard plots are located between 405 m above sea level and 530 m above sea level. These differences in altitude and the different soils, ranging from brown earth to Nagelfluh to moraine rock, result in a unique combination. Other factors are the temperate, humid continental climate with large temperature differences between day and night and the amount of precipitation. All in all, the Lake Zurich region offers the best conditions for unique compositions of different wines and natural wines.

With minimal treatment to the maximum expression of the natural terroir.

Spontaneous fermentation, sporadic addition of light sulfur dioxide, no filtration: that is our vinification briefly described. This way leads us to the original, pure terroir. The results are wines and natural wines with low alcohols and an invigorating acidity. Cold-climate wines from Lake Zurich that perfectly reflect the local climate in the wine glass.

With the conversion to organic viticulture we want to find back to nature. Because nature is our role model, our greatest teacher. We want to see it again with both eyes, smell it, feel it and respect it. Careful manual cultivation, attention to detail and respect for nature, the vine and the product are our top priorities.

Using biodynamics, we support the soil and the vines with natural preparations and with plant teas. In this way we try to restore nature to its original state, to revive and animate it, so that the expression of the terroir can be clearly seen in the wine. Another important point is biodiversity. We lead our vineyards away from monoculture to a habitat where animals, plants and people feel at home.
